Children’s disconnection from nature limits their understanding of local biodiversity and their sensitivity to the environment, despite its crucial importance.
Enable pupils aged 10 to 12 to (re)connect with the nature around them and inspire them to care for and protect the environment.
- In-class workshop: Pupils explore the concept of biodiversity and deepen their understanding, particularly regarding relationships between living organisms.
- Film screening – “The Oak”: Through the film’s stunning imagery, children are introduced to the richness of forest ecosystems.
- Forest outing: This day in nature encourages children to reflect on how to preserve this specific habitat and biodiversity more broadly.
- Future commitments in class: Through a series of challenges proposed during the forest visit, children make personal pledges to support biodiversity at their own level.
