Intervention Strategy
Last January 2020 as bushfires were affecting people and native wildlife across Australia on an unprecedented scale, the Fondation and its Special Fund HP decided to support two organizations at the forefront :
New South Wales Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Services: WIRES with 2500 volunteers in 28 branches are involved in the rescue and care of wildlife and has a dedicated Rescue Office that operates 365 days a year assisting the community to help native animals in distress. They play a major role in assisting bushfire affected animals.
New South Wales Rural Fire Service which is the primary agency for responding to bushfires in the land area of New South Wales and the Jervis Bay Territory.
