News of Haseeb Ahmed second laureate of the Earth Water Sky Residency at the Science Gallery Venice
HASEEB AHMED is the second winner of the “Earth Water Sky” residency at the Science Gallery of Venice. In the wake of his nomination, he began working with is residency scientific partner, Professor Craig Martin, a world specialist of wind and thermal phenomena. As part of the adaptation to the Covid-19 epidemic, their discussions started in a virtual mode and will be followed by an in situ residency as soon as possible.
An American national and MIT graduate in art, culture and technology, Hasseb is now based in Brussels. Used to work in collaboration, he combines approaches from the hard sciences in his artistic production, which consists in the creation of objects, installations, films and writings.
During the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria last September Hasseb gave an interview to Ariane Koek the curator of the Earth Water Sky residency, providing an in-depth insight into his work.
On October 6, 2020, Haseeb will also be in conversation with the previous winner of the “Earth Water Sky” residency Emma Critchley and their exchange will be available on this link on the website Science Gallery Venice.
Haseeb Ahmed has several exhibitions opening this year at RIB in Rotterdam, Netherlands, MuhKA in Antwerp and Kunstenhuis in Harelbeke, Belgium and in Switzerland.
